November 26th, 2018 – Testimonies of Ostracism: A Visit to the Pitesti Prison, Pitesti (RO)
Recent past in Romania is still much alive
By visiting the Pistesti Prison, a memorial museum inside the former Pitesti penitentiary that was active between 1941 and 1977, will offer the participants a moment of strong emotions and reflection on the inhuman conditions political prisonsers were held.
To be openly against Communism led opponents to be ostricised, held in captivity and tortured.
The final aim was to brainwash them, make them give up their own political opinions and be ‘reeducated’ to the Communist doctrine.
